What is Pediatric Dentistry?
Pediatric Dentistry is a dental specialty that provides primary and comprehensive preventive therapeutic oral health care for infants and children through adolescence. This intensive additional two-year residency training is usually hospital based, encompassing numerous pediatric patient needs.
Why a Pediatric Dentist?
Pediatric dentists provide care for their specific age group of patients. This care may range from routine care visits to extractions, involving children of all needs. Pediatric dentists are the primary care providers for your child. There may be however, situations where you will need to be referred to one of our colleagues for special services such as orthodontic treatment or various surgical procedures. Parents can choose to have their children evaluated and treated by a pediatric dentist just as they choose to have their child treated by a pediatrician.
Pediatric dentists at our practice in Rye treat patients at any age from birth through their teens, and even through college! Pediatric dentists have the training and experience to evaluate and treat patients that are medically compromised or with special needs. This may include patients with developmental delay, ADHD, autism, congenital syndromes, etc... All patients are treated with the same love, care, and understanding. Our office truly enjoys children, and our satisfaction grows with each child's smile.
